Japan's official site for Last Days has launched and it's loaded with content. They even have they're own store where you can purchase Last Days apparel.

MTV Japan has a tribute to Kurt Cobain up as a special feature on their site this month. Since Last Days recently had it's release there, they included an interview and video clip of Mike doing an acoustic song I've never heard before. (watch/download it here) The interview is in Japanese so I used Babelfish to translate it to English, but it's pretty hard to read. Click here if you'd like to give it a shot.
Mike really followed through with the amount of press he agreed to do. Here are some links to interviews and such from various Japanese sites:

Here is an article that talks about Silk with director, Francois Girard. He discusses Alessandro Baricco's novel, how the whole idea came about, casting, and plans for distribution. He also gives reasons and explanations regarding a few variations from the book. Filming in Japan was completed on March 23.

Movie News:The trailer for Delirious is now up at the Peace Arch site.
Cyberpresse has an interview with Mike up, that was conducted while he was in Japan filming Silk. Read the French version here, or the English translation here. Production photos from Silk can be found in their gallery. (Slightly larger ones can be found in my gallery.) There are also several short clips of some behind the scenes footage on this Japanese site. (Mike appears in the last one.)

Movie News:It looks like things are coming together nicely for Silk. Last week it was announced that 22 year old Japanese actress, Sei Ashina would be starring along side Mike as the woman his character Herve Joncour, falls for while on silk smuggling trips.
Casting so far:
Michael Pitt... Herve Joncour
Keira Knightley... Helene Joncour
Alfred Molina... Baldabiou
Koji Yakusho... Hara Jubei
Miki Nakatani... 'Brothel Madam'
Sei Ashina... 'Concubine'
Jun Kunimura... Umon
Last Days opened in Japan on March 18th and since Mike was already in Matsumoto city filming Silk, he agreed to do 25 media interviews regarding only Last Days.
The rumor mill has also been churning with several sources having reported the following:
British actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY and US actor MICHAEL PITT made such a connection when they met in advance of filming SILK, the director of the upcoming movie was amazed. FRANCOIS GIRARD is pleased the two stars had such an immediate chemistry when they met in Italy, as he's convinced it can only benefit the film. He says, "They just fixed eyes on each other and talked intensely for hours."

As Pagoda Online reported yesterday, Thurston Moore has signed his record label, Ecstatic Peace, to a deal with the Universal Music Group. So what does this mean for Pagoda? Well according to Pitchfork Media, certain Ecstatic Peace releases will now be distributed through Fontana Distribution, Universal's "indie" distribution company.
Ecstatic Peace's first releases through Universal will include albums by Montreal singer-songwriter Tam and Boston band Black Helicopter, as well as Pagoda, the outfit fronted by hottie actor Michael Pitt (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Bully, Last Days).
Said Moore of Pitt, "I had no interest in an actor who has a band. But then I realized he was just some Jersey kid who moved to New York to play in a band, and the whole acting thing was just something he fell into. Music was his real deal."
House of Worship is set for release June, 6th.
In movie news, Rhinoceros Eyes is set for theatrical release in Canada this Friday (March 10th). It was undoubtedly no easy feat getting to this point as Director, Aaron Woodley, would agree. Here's a recent interview with Mr. Woodley from the Toronto Star.

It's been rumored that Mike might be up for the role of Herve Joncour in the film adaptation of Alessandro Baricco's bestselling novel Silk starring Keira Knightly...
Well, apparently it's no longer a rumor. I've just been informed by Keiraweb.com (via Mike's manager) that he will in fact be playing the lead role opposite Keira Knightly in Silk.
"Silk is being directed by Francois Girard [The Red Violin] and is set in 19th Century France. The film will tell of a married silkworm smuggler, Herve Joncour who travels to Japan to collect his clandestine cargo. While there he spots a beautiful European woman, the mistress of a local baron, and they fall in love. When Herve’s wife begins to suspect something is up, a black cloud starts to mask the unrequited love. " -moviehole.net
You can read a more detailed synopsis here.
As I stated earlier, filming isn't scheduled until Spring but keep checking back. I'll try to have all the latest news.
(Thanks again Paul!)
